Friday Look. Advanced Style by Elena.

I think it's great when ladies in their 50s or 60s feel young inside and dress not like you expect them to dress. I think it's fun to have a grandmother like Elena in the picture. If you feel young inside you will look young outside and if you feel old or tired inside you will ... well, you know the way you'll look and everybody will ask you why do you are so tired and so on.
So girls and boys, feel young and feel free to do and to wear whatever you feel you need to wear.

Like you remember, guys, knee boots are hot nearly every autumn.

Bloggers on Fashion Week in Moscow

From left to right: Anna aka Fox in Vogue, Margarita of White Rabbit Dreams, Yana of London Is Passion.

Do you remember, guys, I said that this season of MB Fashion Week Russia was lucky for meeting new and bright people. Finally I got acquainted with fellows in crime - fashion bloggers. I met with Yana, Margarita and Anna. These three girls have personal style blogs that can inspire you to try new ways of styling your looks or will make you look at clothes in a different way.

I liked the way Yana placed the huge knitted scarf on her coat.

I'm glad that I accidentally met these aspiring bloggers. We all know famous Russian bloggers, whose names I don't want to name here because they have enough spot light on the their humble personalities, but these girls seem to be a bit different from those famous bloggers. May be I was simply glad to meet somebody who has the same hobby like I do, which means in general we have the same interest, we are fond of communicating and sharing with people, like Mark Zuckerberg wishes us to act (please do not think that I'm Mark's fan, I was just joking), and we keep going in hope that somebody out there will notice our blogs, will be inspired and perhaps will come back to read the blog more than once.

Coloured Faux Fur on Fashion Week in Moscow

Girls wore faux fur coats (yes, I know those coats are made of real fur but I wish that was faux fur) not for beauty issues, but for warmth issues. It was very cold on the day I was taking pictures. I like the colour fur tendency a lot. I remember 6 years ago bright green fur looked tacky and cheap, but how great it looks now!

Feeling Blue?

Blue and grey were very popular among fashion week visitors. I like blue, but I do not support grey. Though a combination of grey and blue can work very good, like in the picture above.

Ballet & Fashion? Fashion Talks Outside the Shows. We Do Not Gossip Here.

I've never been on fashion shows yet. Yeah, yet. Though I've been inside the building during the fashion week, when shows took place in there. I came in to warm my fingers, because it was sooo cold standing outside for 4 hours when thermometer shows minus. I think some street style photographers can relate to that: teeth clattering, feeling no fingers on hands or feet. Alright, I'm not telling you a scary story here.
My point here is - it is so much fun outside the fashion shows than inside. It's my hurt pride saying this. Perhaps if I've ever been on any fashion show I'd speak differently. But I haven't and I can not know that for sure. But what I definitely know is that there is so much fun and fascinating people in the street, on fresh, but cold, air!
The boy you see in the picture is ... (you'll never know, guys, his occupation) a ballet dancer. Though looking on the top picture and seeing his posture, ballet fans might possibly guess it right. When he said that he was dancing at the Balshoi theatre, I was really impressed! I've never met personally with ballet dancers before, but I always wanted. So we had a small talk and he said one of the most hilarious things I've heard outside the shows.
Ballet dancer: "I missed Alyona Akhmadulina's show because I was dancing at the Balshoy theatre that night." - he said with discontent.
Me: "LOL.LOL.LOL. I think you should be proud of dancing at the Balshoi. I think you can't even compare these things."
Thank you so much, dear boy, for that chat and for making me laugh!   Speaking of clothes choice  - I liked his white platform shoes and sweatshirt with Georgian letters on.

MBFWRUSSIA Spring 2015. Fashion of Streets. Part 1.

Like I promised you, guys, I went to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia, that takes place twice a year in Moscow. This time was different from my previous two seasons, that I had a chance to visit.  Why was it different? Well, I met many new bright and friendly people who gladly stroke poses and spoke about blogging, fashion shows and their beautiful looks. I will tell you more about my encounters, and for now ... LET THE SHOW BEGIN.

Street Art in Moscow # 20

It looks like a picture torn out of comics and sticked to the fence. I like this work of street art a lot. I wish I could take it to my place.
Viva street artists!
Viva crying girls that inspire street artists! ;)

Friday Office Look Created by Nana

Hey, girls and boys!  It's Friday! Yeahhh!!! Two days of weekend are ahead. I hope you've already planned activities for your free of work days.
Is warm weather still in your city? Then I advise to skip tights and wear knee socks and a skirt, if you happen to own knee socks. I like Nana's grey colours look paired with black oxford boots.
I wish you to have the brightest and funniest Friday night!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia or MBFW Russia

Fashion Week finally came to Moscow! Yohooo!
The schedule and all the news, including pictures, you can find here.
Tomorrow I promise you to post street fashion pictures. I haven't had a chance yet due to my 9 till 6 PM work, to visit a place of fashion celebration. Tomorrow I will spend there about 4 hours to take the best pictures for you, guys, and for me, of course.

London Fashion Week Street Trends. September 2014.

Some ideas for your autumn\winter wardrobe. What did fashion shows guests wear?

Colour Coats
This trend is still alive and colour coats still look cool. And I'm glad about it because grey and camel coats look boring. So girls, if you dislike your old coat and you are itching to buy a new one (not very expensive), I advise you to buy something of a bright or pale colour.

Faux Fur Scarves
I like this trend, because I like everything connected with faux fur. If you do not live in Siberia, then faux fur will save you from the frosts in your town. Faux fur scarves came to substitute knitted scarves. I'm not saying here that knitted scarves will die out like dinosaurs. Fuax fur scarf is simply a new accessory that will refresh your look. I wish you a nice faux fur hunting this weekend.

Backpacks
Trends of the 90s have been reincarnated by the designers. They made backpacks fashionable this year. I'm sure not many of you will support this trend - backpacks do not make you look feminine. Well, it depends on your point of you and on the backpack that you choose. I do not have problems looking not like a true girl from time to time, that is why I like this trend and don't mind taking a backpack to work a couple of days a week.

Faux Fur Coats
Giiirls, faux fur coats are so cool!!! Get a bright faux fur coat and it would be a nice change for you beige or grey coat. So when you are in high spirits you can wear a bright soft coat, when your mood switches and you want to be unnoticed you can easily put the other coat on. Personally I have a light beige wool coat and leopard print faux fur coat. And you know what? I'm longing to find one more perfect faux fur coat for me. Two coats are never enough for a girl. But girls ,please, do not purchase pale pink and black faux fur - there are too many of them. In case you want someday to meet your twin sister on the bus or in the subway train about which you never knew, then go ahead! ;)

High Boots
I can single out one great advantage of high boots - they warm your legs. So your legs won't feel cold and a short skirt looks cool with them.

Colour Jackets
If weather permits and you do not need any coat for now, then what can be better than a wool sweater underneath a bright jacket?

Bright Wool Sweaters
Isn't it logical to wear a wool sweater in autumn? Well, yes, but some of us do not own a really colourful or bright piece. Looking at the pictures below, even dark blue or olive sweater, but with the right skirt, will make you look stylish.

A-line Skirts
It's one of my MOST FAVOURITE trends and I want to inspire you, girls, to wear more skirts of this kind.  What is surprising - they look good with trainers, oxfords and other flats. You understand what I'm hinting on, right?

Tight Skirts
If you are a fan of tight or pencil skirts, make sure it is of an unusual colour or pattern.

Long Sweater Over A Skirt
At first, this look seemed weird to me. Only after I had enough courage to put on a baggy bright pink sweater over a short black skirt I realised, that it's not a bad option, after all.

Knitted Trousers, Dresses, Skirts
Wearing a knitted dress or skirt seems logical, while knitted pants look strange. I'm not sure knitted pants is the best option because they do not keep shape long. Well, wool stretches, you know. I do not consider knitted dress a good investment. You are allowed to buy it only if it's of a high quality, guys. You will not at least waste your money.

 Anything Made of Leather
We've seen some leather skirts during New York Fashion Week. London shows us a lot of leather skirts and pants options. Leather piece is a cool and practical choice for the rainy autumn weather.

Oversized Everything
Baggy, oversized jackets, dresses, shirts, pants, anything. Feel free to let your body feel free.

Crazy Sleeves
From the practical point of view this trend is not practical at all, but if you appreciate art and unusual things - it's a great trend for you. Why not to buy a shirt with 1 meter long sleeves?

Shirt Underneath a Dress or a Sweater
Isn't it comfortable to put a soft cotton shirt underneath a rough wool sweater? You would have never worn that sweater with underwear only in order to escape itching all day. A cotton shirt provides lots of new opportunities for the rough sweater.

Pleated Everything
It's not a brand new trend and as far as I remember, pleated skirts have always been hot. Personally I own a short pleated skirt and love it a lot!

Feathers
Honestly, I thought there would be more feathers during this season fashion weeks. But alas, fashion world people nearly ignored this trend. So many pretty birds lost their feathers in vain!
I like feathers. I even own a short skirt (bought in Stradivarius) completely covered with feathers. Despite the fact that after 10 minutes sit, I stand up and some feathers happen to be left on a chair, and I have to quickly pick them up and attach to my skirt again after the party, I still love my feathered skirt and would still buy it.

Elegant & Simple

This look is one of my favourite looks for autumn. What can be warmer in cold autumn days than a soft wool sweater? What can be more relaxing than an A-line skirt, which is not figure hugging at all, and you don't have reasons to worry about the way your butt looks? And what can be more comfortable with all the above mentioned items than an old or new pair of sneakers?
It happens so sometimes that the more simple clothes you put on the more elegant you look.

David Bowie Fans, Unite!

These girls definitely love different styles of music. I wonder, is it possible to say what type of music a person chooses judging on his\her looks?
The girl on the left is easy to read - David Bowie and Pink Floyd are her favourites. The girl on the right looks like a pop music lover, or a pop rock fan?

Ripped Jeans for October. DISOBEY.

Somehow, I don't know why, ripped jeans look cool. I like the spirit of rebelliousness which they transfer. If ripped jeans for you is a distastefully ruined piece of clothes, for me ripped jeans mean disobedience, youth, rebellion against old order. Ripped jeans have become a symbol of freedom and youth. People are free from government, free from loans, free from their bosses :).
Do not listen to your parents who forbid you to wear that kind of jeans - DISOBEY :) If you really like jeans with holes - DISOBEY. It's your life! Your parents in their life do not wear that type of clothes. It's O.K., cause it's their life. But your life is completely different from theirs. You are different from them. It's your life and your time to disobey, try new healthy things and live YOUR dreams!

Lena - a Brave Girl

  Hello, guys!
Have you ever let yourself to dress like your wildest fantasy lets you? The girl in the picture - Lena,  with a radiant smile, let go thoughts that might limit her and put on ... well, you can see in the picture what Lena is wearing. Actually, it does not look to me that it was her wildest-fantasy-effort. She looks so relaxed in that clothes, so most probably it's a casual look for Lena.
Friday is coming, guys. I know that most companies allow casual clothes on Fridays. So, why not to put on green leather pants, red jacket and light blue shoes? I'm kidding, guys. I simply want you to be more relaxed, at least on Friday, and put on something that you really like but never dared to wear in the office. May be a lace blouse, or bright pants, or a party dress, or a bright pink sweater. Luckily, it's YOU who decides that.
Friends, be bright and be relaxed!
I hope Lena's smile made your day brighter ;)

Street Art in Moscow # 19

Street art is back on the pages of this blog. It has been long since I had a chance to see a street art piece that was worth publishing here.
The street art masterpiece above will keep you guessing for many hours about its message to the world. I still can not get it completely right. What do you think is shown on that wall? What is the painter's\graffiti creator's message to us?

Knee Socks & Tartan

Black knee socks and tartan skirt is slowly becoming classics. Somehow these two pieces look exquisitely good together. This "perfect couple" makes the owner look stylish and rebellious. I think it's due to Vivienne Westwood and punk culture, that tartan was cultivated in our minds like a rebellious attribute.
Guys, if you want to feel rebellious and express yourself in a quiet way in the office at work, I advise you to wear tartan skirt or trousers. You will stand out from the crowd of grey and black suites. I'm sure not all your workmates wear tartan every day.
Have a kind & bright work day on Monday!

A Doll

The girl in the picture reminds me of the popular young pop singers whose current style is simply to be bright in order to be noticed. But they are bright in a tacky way, not in a profound way. Their outfits do not contain any sense as well as their songs.
On the other hand, it's fun to meet a girl dressed like a doll in the crowd of a casually dressed people.

We Are Young & We Are Free

It deserves admiration seeing a girl feeling free to wear whatever she wants being on a date. It's cool meeting such girls. They do not wear killer heels, tones of make-up and super styled hair. They shine with their natural beauty and boys see that.
Society and mass-media force us to use make-up every day. If you don't use make-up, you are actually ugly. If you do not have some designer bag you are a looser. What?!! I don't take that. I completely disagree with that.
So girls, feel free wear and do whatever you want because we live only once and it's really stupid to waste your life on following the rules that you didn't invent and which you don't like.

Transparency

Transparency. People lack it in relations, in politics, in minds, in life. We lack transparency in everything except clothes. We gladly show off our beautiful or unattractive bodies wearing transparent piece of clothes, but we never show transparency in anything else. Sadly, but exactly that "anything else" part requires, badly needs transparency. Transparency equals clarity, fairness, saying truth, no acting, no pretence. But instead of showing transparency inside people choose to wear transparent clothes.
Transparent pieces of clothes seem senseless to me, but they help to add tenderness and lightness to your look.
