What a creative company I had!
I think every girl imagined herself being Shakespearean Juliet. If you ever indulged in reading the tragedy or watching a movie, you might have had at least one tear drop in your eye. It was said billions of times before me, and will be said the same quantity of times after me, William Shakespeare was definitely a genius of a word, feelings and imagination.
Speaking of imagination and visuals, Franco Zeffirelli's movie "Romeo & Juliet" of 1968 starring Olivia Hussey and Leonardo Whiting will present a lot of food for your eyes and your thoughts. You will feel great inspiration and admiration. Because it is impossible to stay indifferent to the beauty of monologues, of young actors, of well crafted costumes.
Looking at Juliet walking or dancing in her sumptuous red dress, you long to be that girl too. You want to walk through old streets with no haste, spend more time looking into a mirror and take pleasure in seeing your own divine reflection, to have enough time to gently comb your hair, to slowly put on a beautiful long dress, feel sun caressing your face and see boys looks full of admiration. Alas 21 century pace does not let a working girl enjoy herself that way any more. Somebody speeds up our life tempo and we live every day without paying much attention to ourselves. It feels as if leading politics and mass media say:
"Work, work, work."
"Money, money, money."
"Spend, spend, spend."
Full of yearning for being a vulnerable medieval girl that lives in the Middle Ages and wears a richly embroidered red dress, and after looking at some sensuous Madonna images, I decided to go to one of my favourite places in the city - a huge park which reminds of a forest. So I was walking in the park I tried to feel what it's like to be a beautiful girl that needs not to hurry and can allow herself to be vulnerable, sad and freely immerse into thoughtful silence.
"For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo."
The pictures you see here and below were my sort of inspirational mood boards". Though I had blurry visuals in my head and it is only after taking my pictures I understood what the "mood board" should look like.
"The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head."
It is the very dress that Olivia Hussey - Juliet character, wore in the movie.
Here are my three muses - Juliet, Madonna & forest.
Here I am - 21 century working "Juliet".
Long gold chain always looks good on black turtleneck. "Love" inscribed on the necklace.
Every time I put on this sparkly Monsoon skirt I feel like a Middle Ages girl. Well, you understand what I mean.
"Don't waste your love on somebody, who doesn't value it."
