A Smart Look For Men

Wearing light trousers in early rainy autumn is risky - you can find your trousers 5 inches in mud. In case you check weather forecast and it promises a sunny day, why not to wear light brown trousers with blue shirt and checked dark blue wool jacket? It looks simple and smart.

Long Dress - Your Choice?

Meeting a girl in a long dress, I always start wandering why did she choose such an uncomfortable from the first site piece of clothes? What thoughts does the image of a long dress evoke in you? Ancient and medieval centuries? Queens? Need to hide your body?
The idea of hiding body in a long dress is close to me. Honestly, I'm tired of seeing Kim Kardashian and other pop people wearing figure hugging dresses that leave little to imagination and their boobs dropping out of a dress. Hello, people! There must be a mystery in a girl! May be I sound to much conservative here. But why then most men do not wear figure hugging jeans or trousers? Why do they keep their own mystery and some freedom for body in relatively baggy clothes? Why do women start putting on or most likely squeezing into the clothes? What for that kind of women make such torture to their body and people around them?
Girls, respect yourself and be a mystery to boys.

Dress and Trainers

Seeing more and more girls choosing comfortable, soft trainers with a pretty dress, instead of killer hills makes me happy. Finally, fashion adapts to a simple girl who has to walk and use public transport, instead of a girl adapting to fashion and wearing killer hills while climbing office staircases, carrying heavy bags with food on her way home in the end of a hard working day.

Let's Make Vladimir Lenin Fashionable

You may call me old-fashioned. You may call me over-patriotic. You may call me bad taste. You may call me tacky. You may call me brilliant. You may call me revolutionary. You may call me smart. But you know what, guys? I... don't...care! Because I like history. I like Vladimir Lenin. I like revolution. I like to be stylish in my own way. And finally, I like this T-shirt.
I think Russia needs a revolution. I think the whole world needs a revolution, that will bring absolutely new changes of which we could only dream.
Let's make Lenin fashionable. Let's make REVOLUTION fashionable.

"REVOLUTION" written on T-shirt.

My message to the present leading political party in the country.

Moscow Metro - Underground Museum. Smolenskaya Station.

Where else in the world can you find a subway which is worth being a museum in it's own way? Well, in Moscow, of course.
I think Moscow metro (subway) is one huge monument of the USSR art. It seems like time stood still underground and you got back to those great times for Russia.
I'm very grateful to the Moscow metro creators: architects, designers, engineers, construction workers, artisans, painters, sculptors, for the beauty they created for next generations.
Most of us hate subways, especially in rush hours. Atmosphere inside is insane. Travelling by metro train back home after 8 hours work day you usually see tired, exhausted and not very good looking people. I think our grand-grand fathers knew about the psychological difficulties of underground travelling and that is why they made a museum for us.
Guys, who are living or visiting Moscow, I advise you to look around when you are in metro and to really SEE the masterpieces around you. Why do you think there are so many tourists taking pictures in metro? Because it's really beautiful!

I like the low-relieves showing scenes from the Soviet past.

I wish I had lamps like these at home.

I admire artisans skill.

Beautiful symbols of the great past.

"You Dirty, Little Bookworm". Agatha Christie "Murder on the Orient Express"

*  *  *

“The body—the cage—is everything of the most respectable—but through the bars, the wild animal looks out.”
Agatha Christie "Murder on the Orient Express"

 Hello, guys,
I hope you're having an easy day and it will bring you bright new ideas.
Do you read much? When did you finish reading 300 pages book? Some people tend to have negative attitude to books. I recall Freddie Mercury saying that books are useless because live world is around. Life is more interesting than books, Freddie Mercury thought. Perhaps he was right, but a big part of people can not read life as good as Freddie did. People haven't learned yet to be as sharp as a needle from early years without reading books and learning. Wisdom comes in late 20 something years.
What to do if you want to be smart, wise and shrewd in your 20s? I advise you start reading books. Books give you answers, make your imagination and brain work, enrich vocabulary, console, help to relax and, finally, inspire. But do not believe in everything that stands in a book. Switch on your brain. Doubt some believes. This process will lead you to finding truth for yourself.
Does your brain demand a qualitative exercise? You wouldn't mind your logic working out? Or do you simply wish to dive into the world of mystery? If yes, then start with "Murder on the Orient Express" by Agatha Christie.

"Hercule Poirot: The bottle is more distinguished than its wine."

Agatha Christie "Murder on the Orient Express"

The detective novel by the famous English writer was published on January 1, 1934. The novel includes everything you've ever looked for in a book: passionate love story, actions, Eastern mysteries, wit, horror scenes that will make your hair stand on end.
Believe it or not, Agatha Christie herself travelled many times by the Orient Express from London to Istanbul. She even spent a half of her honeymoon on the train. More than that, it was a must for outstanding people and celebrities of that time like Ernest Hemingway, Mata Hari, Greta Garbo, Ian Fleming, scientists and politics, to travel by the Orient Express. The moment a bright crowd gathered in one place, unordinary and scary events happened on the board of the train. Once, the train was blocked high in the mountains not far from Istanbul for 5 days because of the heavy snow fall. Food finished and two passengers took their guns and went hunting. That night passengers were served with wolf meat. Agatha Christie learned about that from newspapers and included the snow storm story in her detective novel.

"The murderer is with us now!"
Agatha Christie "Murder on the Orient Express"

One more interesting fact is connected about this work of literature: it was written in Istanbul at Pera Palace hotel in room 441. What inspires more than Eastern countries?
Agatha Christie - mama of detective novels, wouldn't be Agathe Christie if she didn't leave a secret after her death that is connected with room 441. Having an emotional breakdown after her mother's death and her husband's demand to divorce, she disappeared for 10 days. Nobody knew where she was and Christie wouldn't tell that herself, simply saying she didn't remember, until Michael Apted started shooting a film about that incident. A famous medium was invited and spoke with Agathe's spirit. I think this step was took by the film director to make the story and film more interesting and attract public attention. The spirit said an address of the place where was the key to the secret. It was Pera Palace hotel address. An old rusty key was found under the floorboards in room 441, where Christie always stayed. But till this very day it's unknown to which door that key is. More detailed story you can read here.
If the above said hasn't inspired you to read this book, then watch a movie. It was the only movie that Agatha Christie approved. To be honest with you, the move pushed me to read the book. May be you should start with the movie too.
I hope guys, you will enjoy "Murder on the Orient Express" on book pages or on TV or laptop screen.

A.D.C.: Not wait? Hah. After all you've done for us, Monsieur Poirot? Ha ha. Oh. Uh, my general's orders were to ensure your safe departure. He also wished to thank you again for saving the honour of the British garrison in Jordan. The Brigadier's, uh, confession was opportune. I say, how did you do it? Was it the old, uh, thumbscrew, you know, the rack, huh?... Oh. Well, uh, you'll be able to rest as soon as you get to Stamboul. The, uh, the Church of Santa Sophia is absolutely magnificent.
Hercule Poirot: You have seen it?
A.D.C.: No.

Movie costumes look very impressive.

I don't know why, and perhaps it's rude of me, but the book character's outfit reminds me of Diane Pernet.

An Ideal Couple

Isn't it great to see two people loving each other?
I think one of the indicators of really good relations is when a boy and a girl wear something identical for a walk - T-shirts, sweaters, hats. The list is very long. This lovely couple has common colour preferences. At least they have one subject less to argue about.
Guys, thank you for letting me to take your picture! Cherish and save your warm feelings to each other and always be bright like you are!

An Unusual Hair Colour

Pink hair, purple hair, green hair, half shaved hair, no hair. Well, I'm joking about "no hair" part. The vogue for doing something unusual with hair is growing. I do not think it'll become very popular and every second person will have an extraordinary hair colour. Do you agree, guys?
Where from this trend came from? Subcultures? Pop singers? Japanese Harajuku girls?
It's always curious for me to see people with unusual hair choice. Would you, guys, consider changing your hair colour to more extreme one?

Toma - Modern Greek Goddess

Looking at Toma, if your imagination is rich enough, you might think that Greek goddess got reincarnated in her.
Why Greek goddess you ask me? Just have a look at this girl- her beautiful brown eyes, modest smile, fantastically tanned skin look so beautiful in combination with the long white dress. This girl managed to combine all hot trends in one look. She paired a fancy dress with sneakers and a backpack. Our grandmothers, even our mothers, could never even think it is possible to do this and to look good.
Well done, girl! It's a real fashion of streets. It's a modern big city look. It is a 21 century girl, which can in a smart way put together beauty and comfort.

New York Fashion Week September 2014 Street Style Trends

Hello, dear friends. New York fashion week came to its end as well as London fashion week. Milan fashion week is finishing tomorrow. In the post the object of my interest is street fashion - what do people wear on shows.
Why do pay attention to the people outside the shows? Well, because some of them are nearly usual people, like us, and it's curious to see their number one choice for the casual, street clothes.
Let's see the variety of street trends:

Stripes
To my mind it's a boring trend. But it was very popular among the people outside the shows.
This trend is quite predictable: middle of September is a resort time for some of us, and in resort collection stripes are always popular. Second, for pre-fall most designers chose stripe too. Despite the stripe being boring in general, I like how some people below made it look very amusing. Most of all I like the lady with the red lobster and red striped bag, striped socks with sneakers and a baggy shirt with big light blue stripes.

Ripped Jeans for Boys & Girls
You know, guys, what I've noticed, ripped jeans are not shocking anyone any more (I mean older generations). The image of ripped jeans and their physical availability in shops (sometimes there are no other options in a shop but ripped denim trousers) made our perception get used to them. It's normal now to wear ripped jeans. Nobody cares. Ripped jeans do not irritate elderly people any more. Why? Because they are fashionable. The machine called "fashion" keeps on planting in our minds that it's quite cool to wear trousers with holes in them ... Isn't it funny, guys? Can you imagine Oscar Wilde (a writer) or Olga Orlova (an actress) wearing ripped trousers? I can, but this image makes me laugh. In the 21st century person's perception it's cool to wear ripped jeans, but not in the 19th or 20th century.
Ripped jeans idea has been harvested in our minds by mass media in a successful way. It's even acceptable to wear ripped jeans in the office. I came many times in ripped jeans to work, only once one man asked me whether I needed a needle for my jeans. My reply was: "No, thank you. It's fashion." This argument makes most people resist from further talk. So guys, keep on parading in ripped jeans while "it's fashion".

Platforms
It's my favourite trend among the above mentioned ones. Platform is great, specifically for those who want to look higher, but can not wear high heels. There is only one trick with platform boots - to find boots of light weight so the heavy platforms won't hurt your precious feet.
