Moscow Metro - Underground Museum. Smolenskaya Station.

Where else in the world can you find a subway which is worth being a museum in it's own way? Well, in Moscow, of course.
I think Moscow metro (subway) is one huge monument of the USSR art. It seems like time stood still underground and you got back to those great times for Russia.
I'm very grateful to the Moscow metro creators: architects, designers, engineers, construction workers, artisans, painters, sculptors, for the beauty they created for next generations.
Most of us hate subways, especially in rush hours. Atmosphere inside is insane. Travelling by metro train back home after 8 hours work day you usually see tired, exhausted and not very good looking people. I think our grand-grand fathers knew about the psychological difficulties of underground travelling and that is why they made a museum for us.
Guys, who are living or visiting Moscow, I advise you to look around when you are in metro and to really SEE the masterpieces around you. Why do you think there are so many tourists taking pictures in metro? Because it's really beautiful!

I like the low-relieves showing scenes from the Soviet past.

I wish I had lamps like these at home.

I admire artisans skill.

Beautiful symbols of the great past.
